How much does a business website cost? What affects the price

Updated September 2026.
"How much does a website cost?" is probably the question we hear most. The honest answer is that the range is wide, because "a website" can mean anything from five simple pages to a service where customers log in, book, pay and follow their cases.
We'd rather give you the tools to understand the price tag than just name a number. What other suppliers charge varies a lot, so always compare what's included. We can give you a starting point for our own part: with us, a simpler business website starts from 30,000 SEK. More complex solutions, such as e-commerce or web applications, cost more. Below we explain why.
What decides the price
How big and how complex the site is
The number of pages matters, but even more so what the pages need to do. A page with text and images is simple. Booking, login, payment, a member register or a connection to a business system takes considerably longer to build and test.
Whether the design is custom
Starting from a ready-made template is cheaper, but then your site looks like many others. A custom design, built around how your customers think and what you want to convey, takes longer but gives you a website that's your own. We work with custom design, including clickable prototypes that you approve before the build starts.
Who produces the text, images and film
This is often forgotten. A website is empty without content. Will you write the text yourselves, or does someone else need to? Do you need new photos or film? Should the site exist in several languages? Content often accounts for a large share of both time and cost, and it's also what most often delays projects, because it sits with the client.
Technology, speed and accessibility
A site that's fast, works on mobile, is accessible to more people and has a solid SEO foundation takes more care to build than one that "just has to exist". It's nearly invisible when done well, but you notice it in how the site works and how it shows up in Google. Make sure whoever quotes says clearly what's included.
Time and decisions
The more people who need to weigh in, and the longer replies take, the longer the project. A typical business website takes us 4–8 weeks. More complex projects with special features can take 8–16 weeks.
What to expect after launch
A website isn't finished when it launches. Expect ongoing costs:
- Domain name – an annual fee.
- Hosting – where the site lives.
- Maintenance and security updates – so it keeps working and stays safe.
- Content updates – prices, opening hours, new services, new case studies.
- SEO and analytics – if the site should show up in Google, the work isn't done at launch. Ongoing SEO with us starts from 8,000–15,000 SEK per month, depending on scope and competition.
Always ask what's included in the price and what's extra. We offer ongoing maintenance and support after launch, but it should be clear in the quote from the start.
Questions to ask before you order
- Is the price fixed, and is it excluding VAT? Business prices are often quoted excluding VAT.
- What's included, and what isn't? Text, images, translation, SEO, accessibility and training are common grey areas.
- Who owns the website, the code and the domain? You should be able to take them with you if you switch supplier.
- What happens after launch? Who updates, who answers if something breaks, and what does it cost?
- What does the timeline look like, and what do you need from us and when?
- Can we see examples of similar work? Have a look at our case studies and ask every supplier to show theirs.
Ask for quotes from two or three suppliers and compare what's included, not just the total. The cheapest quote is rarely the cheapest solution if something important is missing from it.
How it works with us
We start with a free conversation where we get to know your business and audience. Then we develop requirements, design and a clickable prototype, build, test and launch. Throughout the project you can follow progress in our client portal. You'll find more on the web development page.
Frequently asked questions
Can I get a website for less?
Yes, by limiting the scope: fewer pages, fewer features, content ready from your side. A good approach is to start with the essentials and build out later.
Is it cheaper to build it myself in a site builder?
It can be cheaper in out-of-pocket costs, but it costs you time, and the result is seldom as tailored, fast and visible in search. Whether it's the right choice depends on what the website needs to do for your business.
How long does it take?
Usually 4–8 weeks for a typical business website. What tends to stretch it is getting text and images in place.
